I’ve been stuck at home for a few days and I can only work on bathroom remodel stuff for so long before I start pulling my hair out, the rattle can paint also helped the speed immensely.
Would have liked more clearance, got about 8mm everywhere on the tire and a scooch less than 6 at the chainring, let’s call it 5. It’s a 25 tooth chainring.
I think there’s something off with my jig or I’m just shit, one or the other because I feel like I had everything in right and the whole rear end ended up shoved off to the right a few mm. I was able to shove it back and get it straight but it opened up a bunch of gaps. I should have ordered new stays and done it again, instead I just filled the gaps with weld and am gonna ride it till it breaks. yolo, or something.
I did manage to straighten it out and “putty and paint make me the welder I ain’t” so more seam sealer than I’ll ever admit to in real life and rust-o-leum white and it doesn’t look too terrible from far away
I should have cut more off the straight ends of the stays, it would have given me a bit more clearance everywhere. Next time.
