Hi guys! New here, I hope this is the right place to ask this question.
I’ve accidentally ordered stainless steel dropouts (I never work with stainless) and realised it only when I was already brazing the rear dropouts.
They are STAINLESS STEEL HOODED THRU-AXLE REAR DROPOUTS from metal guru, and Im using a columbus zona gravel tubeset.
As I was brazing the first pass with nickel silver (gf 72) with type B gasflux paste, I realised something was wrong, the nickel silver would not wet properly onto the dropouts, I’ve managed to braze them eventually but obviously I cannot fillet braze them with bronze.
My question is, will the nickel silver braze (a very small 2-3mm fillet) be strong enough?
Should I remove everything and redo with silver solder?
Has anyone else had any luck brazing 304L stainless with this filler and flux?
Cheers!
