Bridge Locations for Fenders

Hi all, I wanted to see if other builders have a specific rule/guideline for locating bridges, specifically for brazing in eyelets to support full size fenders. I’ve got a wheel check tool that can hold a bridge in place, so I’m able to repeat the locations, but wanted to see what others use. Thanks in Advance!

20–25mm above the tire is a good place to start.

The distance always seems to get filled up somehow. I use 25mm. I have seen a lot of people that say 10mm. My experience with that is it’s great if you like noisy fenders because stuff is scraping along inside.

Gilles Berthoud gives the outer diameter for their mudguards, so no problems. Just add the radius of your stay, some millimeters for the eyelets (I always use bottle bosses) and the washer.
