[CAD] The Tube Library

This is a community-run CAD library for bike tubes and parts! This is still a work in progress!

For each item, it is recommended to have:

  • 2D drawing (PDF)
  • STEP file
  • F3D file (if made in fusion)
  • An example use (most useful for chainstays!)

The dream solution for this repository would be:

  • A CAD library of all the different chainstays
  • Each chainstay has a dimpled CAD version
  • Each dimple has a 3D printed die you can download
  • Each chainstay had documentation and examples of how people successfully used them
    • tire clearance, chainstay length, bottom bracket, crank clearance, etc…

I’ll add my library once I make 2D drawings for all the tubes!

Ok I will add something. It is an alignment tool I made. I am a complete noob with F360. I printed these out to check my frames. Dont want to step on toes because people make them but here is my contribution to the forum. I did not know how to make a 2D drawing yet. (noob)

Nice. If I were going to make them for myself, and I probably should, I’d make one in each size I needed and make the reference way longer. In your example, the 157 would be hard for me to use because of the 197 getting in the way.

Years ago I created some parametric SolidWorks files driven from a spreadsheet representing the various dimensions in the Columbus and Dedacciai tube catalogues. Sadly, I have not kept them up to date.

I’ll aim to go through them and update as per the latest catalogues.

To start, I’ve uploaded a selection of the Columbus double bend chainstays here:

(I believe they’re accurate matching the 2018-2020 catalogues.)
