Can you bring me some tubing to bespoked Manchester?

i’m a frame builder from New Zealand, living in Egypt until the end of the year.

its near on impossible to get supplies here, so I do my best to stock up out of the country while im away and this usually keeps me ticking over, but I’m trying to take on an unexpected project Im going to need a few supplies for, and squeeze it in before the end of the year…

I’m travelling to bespoked Manchester and wondering if someone else, also attending, is willing to basically act as a tube supplier. I wont have much time outside the show to go hunting for things, (im only in the country for the weekend).

im looking for plain straight gauge 4130.

Ideally im after twelve lengths of 19.05mm (3/4") tubing with a 0.9mm (0.035") wall, 480mm long.

and three lengths of 34.9mm (1 3/8") tubing 1.6mm (0.063") wall, also 480mm long,

if anyone feels like helping me out, and can lay hands on this without much hassle, please reach out!

Cheers, Pat.

Reynolds had a display there last year. So if they stock what you need I bet they could bring it along?

Hi Pat,

Peter @ Ceeway lists:

19 x 0.9 x 1500mm (so 4 needed)
35 x 1.5 x 1500mm (so 1 needed)

Happy to order those, cut and bring along.
I’ll be visiting Bespoked on the Friday, but could probably deposit them with one of the organisers or an exhibitor if needed.

All the best,
Dan Chambers

hi Dan, thanks for reaching out.

that process sounds ideal, I am just a little concerned about the listed 35mm tube.

i’ve never ordered from Ceeway but I note the line in the stockist states;

35, L=1500mm, 1.5 Untapered Will Sleeve 31.8mm

ill be using this as seat tubes, and need it to sleeve 31.6 seat posts after reaming. im imagining this is intended for stem making, given the 31.8 mention.

do you, or does someone else reading, know if this is actually 1 3/8"x0.063" tube thats been roughly measured, or if its metric tube with a 32.0mm bore?

ill also reach out to Ceeway and ask.

if it turns out that it IS what im after, what you mention above sounds great and would be doing me a huge solid;

ill touch base when I hear back from Ceeway and let you know.

thanks again for reaching out!

That 35mm tube is what it says it is. He mentions the 31.8mm because it can be used to externally sleeve a 31.8mm tube (often to beef up the top of a seattube). You won’t be able to ream this to 31.6mm.
