Problem Description
I’m designing a 2-wheeler front loading cargo bike and I cant find any way to shorten the bottom of the head tube. It’s not really any big problem as I can still get all the measurements I need, but it would be nice to see how it’s going to look and if I had to send the drawing to a customer I don’t want to need to explain why it’s too long on the drawing.
Question
Is there any way to adjust the lenght of the headtube without affecting other parts of the geometry?
Whoops, good luck!
Can’t help you, but I ran in the same hiccup.
Tried all kind of settings, but it doesn’t help.
Not helpful in a BikeCAD sense, but the workaround I can think of is to export as a PDF and bring it into Illustrator (or other vector editing software) and edit the shape manually.
BikeCad pro can export to SVG so you can edit it in InkScape(free). The messurements to the bottom of the headtube will probaly be made of multiple objekts so they can be deleted.
First thing to do is reduce the Y value in the Bakfiets section of the Tubing dialog box. Dimension Y (shown in yellow) defines the vertical distance between the bottom of the middle head tube and the bottom of the front head tube. Once you’ve done that, you’ll also have to reduce the extension of the head tube below the down tube. This dimension is shown in orange.
I haven’t shown it, but you will also likely want to change the DA dimensions for the other extra tubes branching off the head tube.
