This is not a Paragon Machine Works project. I joined an online learning group and these were my two projects. If you have ChatGPT, can you take a look at my GPTs? They aren’t released in the ChatGPT directory, only people who have this link will be able to access. If you don’t have a ChatGPT account, then you’ll have to create an account, I think. Both projects search the web for specific information. I figure you are my best people to try to break my bots
Thank you for your time. I really do appreciate it!

Did Hiroshi move back to Japan? Isn’t he in Berkley? Also the category of steel touring bikes in Japan should get you at least 10x more hits. I’s bikes (Grand Bois) being a obvious miss.

Thank you for this feedback and knowledge. My instructions were to look for current (2025) information from social media, websites, tradeshows, and news articles. If the framebuilder doesn’t have a large internet presence, the bot can’t find them. But I’ll keep this in mind when I refine the searches.
Ah, i see why it might not have brought up Grand Bois. I queried “tell me about https://cyclesgrandbois.com/ “ Along with the shop services, the bot assessed:
Assessment: Is GrandBois a custom-only framebuilder?
Given what I found:
-
They do not clearly present themselves as a pure custom framebuilder where you send geometry and they build from raw tube to your spec. Their website emphasizes shop visits and “ordering a GrandBois bicycle” rather than commissioning completely custom frames.
-
The fact that “most Grand Bois frames are made by Toei” implies they rely on an established constructor for frame shells. crazyguyonabike.com
-
They do make original parts, provide finishing, assembly, and sell complete bikes.
-
They do operate currently as an active shop & brand.
So in my categorization, I would mark them as something like a hybrid brand / shop / assembler rather than a pure custom framebuilder.

All of the Jitensha studio frames are made by Toei as well. Grand Bois builds a lot of custom stuff and now we get into who is custom and who isn’t…like is Seven a custom builder?
Maybe if the bot can be trained to go to insta and see if anyone has a lit torch or a welder in the background?

For this project, I specified shops which made bike frames from scratch, not modifying/enhancing frames. It also excludes bike shops, component manufacturers, and paint shops. This project actually displays the results I programmed. Perhaps, if I included the scope in the bot introduction, it would ease confusion.
I like it, I have had fun asking it questions.
I’m dyslexic, so I actually tend to use ChatGPT to help me with spelling and grammar for work or other purposes.
I’m curious about using it in this way. I hit my limit of asking questions pretty fast, so I only got to dive in so far.
I am curious to know if, when I correct it, that feedback gets incorporated into your pool of information and updates it for everyone else.
Hi Coco.
Nice work. I’m using ChatGPT, Claude and Anara to help me systematise my PhD research on Micro Factories and Digital Fabrication of Bicycles. It really speeds up everything allowing to explore different routes… stuff that would take me intense three or four days, I can do it in one morning while having a coffee ![]()
“who are the custom bike builders in the UK?”
not me apparently ![]()
“Are there any custom framebuilders in Scotland?”
still not me ![]()
Clearly, I need to have a word with my marketing department!
When the switch flipped for me about the usage of AI, the skies parted and i totally fell through the rabbit hole of prompt engineering and the usage of AI AS A TOOL. It’s still a dangerous world out there!
It should remember what’s been queried, but you can always send me a note with your findings!
OH NO! I knew this was going to happen with boutique and intimate shops. I will make a note to the bot to add Willow Bikes to it’s memory!
@stevenshand I got you mapped for my PhD research… ![]()

OK, the little bot is live:
I had to expand the search to include not only custom one-off bikes, but also partial custom and small production shops.
Start with a “help me find a framebuilder” or “tell me about …” .
If you want to make sure the bot includes a shop you know for it to be verified, query “I want to add a framebuilder”
I appreciate all of the assistance!
