Dear Diary - Framebuilding Course Experience

Cheers! And yeah Rob’s great. And a lot fussier than I am as far as finish work goes haha.

Day 10 - Done

Not much left to do. Added a couple brazeons and the final bit of clean up work. Rob chased the BB and reamed the seat tube. I fit the BB/cranks and seat post to make sure there were no fit/clearance issues. All seems fine. Won’t know 100% until I build it up which is a month or two away.

Also I started this thread to share my experience and to try and help others decide if a course is the best way to get started. I think that’s a hard question to answer right away but I can say right off the bat that I’m glad I did the course and would recommend it to others if they can afford the time and money. Massive thanks to Rob for putting it on too. It’s currently the only framebuilding course offered in AU so I’m glad to report that it doesn’t suck haha.

Oh and Rob was kinda enough to post about it on Instagram. Send enough likes his way and he might even be convinced to join the forum.

Built up the frame a few months ago now and been riding it all southern summer. It’s a fun bike and pretty much what I wanted! I also finally got myself a torch setup at home here and looking forward to playing with that over the winter. Cheers, Ben.

Sliver spokes are always the move. Well done chief!

I’ll have mine with some more gears and hydro brakes though

Don’t worry, there’s a few bikes like that already in the shed. Dropper posts too!
