Dented frame, best way to proceed

Hi, I use spray.bike cans, they are expensive but worth every penny.

  1. Sand the frame
  2. Primer
  3. Paint
  4. Clear coat

If you do graphics, use vinyl not painter’s tape, vinyl leaves better edges.

Will open a new topic on paint as I feel that I have made so many mistakes (and counting) that I could share some nugget of wisdom, mostly don’ts

Montanas is nearly identical chemically and costs half as much.

Spray bike cans are super low pressure and the paint almost lands dry, which is great for avoiding drips and getting into tight areas but can cause issues as well. Montanas cans are higher pressure and take a bit more can control (especially inside the rear triangle) but it’s easier to get a smooth finish.

Montanas also makes a metal specific primer! Montanas doesn’t have a carbon primer like spray bike, but as both brands are acrylic based - you can mix and match.

Thanks! spray.bike stuff is hard to find here in Canada. I think there is one company that sells it and its been out of stock for months. Nice to know you are achieving these results with spray paint!

Bike is ready:

I have posted some info on the paint here:
