Hey all!
I’m trying to measure once/cut once on a fork with flat mounts and I’m a bit confused by the FM140 thru-axle drawings.
Here’s Shimano’s:
And here’s SRAM’s:
Is the 1.7mm on both of those drawings measured from the dropout lip or the axle face?
I’m pretty sure it’s from the dropout face. The lip changes thicknesses depending whether it’s a 15mm or 12mm axle.
That’s what I was thinking too! I ended up measuring it on a carbon fork I have and it seems like it’s from the face there as well.
Definitely face, as you’ve measured.
