For Sale: Traditional Framebuilding Bits

I’m not associated with the sale but know the seller. Bob Freeman, who was Bill Davidson’s long time business partner at Davidson Cycles and Elliott Bay Bicycles here in Seattle, is clearing out framebuilding materials.

You can find details on his flickr account:

I can vouch for Bob, he’s reliable. Not a framebuilder, so don’t count on him for technical advice, you need to know what you’re buying. It’s mostly obsolete stuff but a few of you might still use, say, lugs for a 1” top tube and 1-1/4” headtube, at least once in a while.

His classic roadbike Takahashi IC BBs, for 1-1/8” and 7/8” round, are some of the finest castings you’ll ever see. Cast in Japan, by Hitachi. I’ve probably used a couple hundred of them and I’d take one over a Cinelli any day.

If you’re into that kinda stuff…

How do I get in touch with him?

When I bought some stuff from him in person I went and looked through his massive physical bike catalog. Probably 150-200 bikes, tons of interesting stuff and a very lovely man. Also he had a Flying Gate, something id never seen in person.

PM sent.

For others, I saw he posted in another group with his email address so: rdf1249@aol.com

I just bought a bunch of stuff from him. He has it all listed on his flicker. I think he gave me lots of extras too! Incredibly cheap good deals on nice fun stuff.
