I’m building a frame that I’m planning to fillet braze. How much “extra” should I leave on my headtube length (e.g. to allow facing)? Is .020" [.5mm] enough? Is .060" [1.5mm] too much? I don’t want to leave too much and create extra work for myself.
Here at Paragon we leave .020" [.5mm] for customers to face after welding/braising. Seems to be a good number. I know some headtubes/bb shells on the market are .04 [1mm] oversize, but all the feedback we have gotten over the years that seems to be unnecessary. 1.5mm would definitely be unnecessary
