Mini Velo, Hardtail, Tall Bike

Hello all, I’m Walter! I’ve been building bikes with Cal Poly Bike Builders for the last four ish years. I ran into @Daniel_Y at Made, and he reminded me that this wonderful community exists. Here’s some of my work:

Mini Velo

Hardtail

seriously lacking pics of this one, I’ll upload more when I take them…

Welcome! I still can’t believe you rode that tall bike across the grinduro course. Great job!

I love these curves!

And what is this heaven in the background?

Not to hijack Walter’s thread, but that’s the Cal Poly SLO Aero Hangar, one of two machine shops that the university Mechanical Engineering Department runs. It’s a shop open to students decked out with manual+cnc mills, lathes, welders, woodshop, laser cutters, 3d printers and a lot more.

Cal Poly Bike Builders works out of here, we’ve got our own little mini workshop with special bike building tools.

This is the best pic I have of the hangar, mostly it shows all of the club areas, with the bike builders cage in the lower right with the roll up doors. You can just make out the mills and lathes in the back.
