Park Whip part 2, The Revenge!

Only got a couple months 'till the bike park opens and im trying to get motivated on this. Hopefully starting build log will help.

What’s out,
-Long low and slack
-External bearings in little stupid cups full of stress risers
-Crazy high pivots and idlers
-Brake jack
-Pedal bob
-Mushy, race bike leverage ratios
-Multi-piece seat tubes

What’s in,
-Short high and steep
-29/26
-Internal bearings
-Neutral pedaling and braking
-Poppy, responsive rear
-Single crown
-Reliable
-Fun party times

1 3/4 .063" tube for bmx bottom bracket, 100mm wide. A 73mm bottom bracket with the external bearings is like 95mm, so…this is a bit wider and way stronger.

Tapered head tube, 150mm. Was running a 130 with external bearings. Better, stronger.

Also doing a 1 3/4 .047" down tube, because durable and i dont care a single bit what it weighs.

Hope thie pictures post, first time trying from mobile.

Your technology and skills may be top-notch, but c’mon . . . NO ONE has referred to a bicycle as a “Whip” since the late 90’s. Even then, it was painful.

Thank you! A little of it will end up on the new channel. Haven’t touched the bike channel in over a year and don’t really intend to get back to it anytime soon.

I had the ither one set up this way at the end of last season and its so good! I can’t wait to see how it works being designed for that wheel combo from the beginning. Its gonna rip.

+50mm BB, 393 chainstay, and 490 reach is certainly going to have interesting ride characteristics…

Also the suspension looks like half of the new Specialized Demo prototype, will be very cool to see how it all comes together.

At the end of last season is was +50, 405 cs, 515 reach and it fucking rules. That chainstay should say 390, that’s static, it’s 410 or so at sag. It’s fun because at sag it got bottom bracket drop relative to the front axle and rise relative to the rear so it rolls over everything but the rear end is super active and easy to move around. This setup was, hands down, more fun than the 27.5/26 or the full 29. I know it doesn’t look like it makes any sense, but it’s just a friggin riot to ride. And, it’s only got to please one idiot, and I’m him, so…

Maybe this will do something…

I’ll take enormous downtube for $400, Alex. Goddamn. That thing is ridiculous! 44mm .047" and my 44mm .063 “bottom bracket shell” Nothing exceeds like excess. This is just silly.
