Getting around to designing my first bike for my kid and he BADLY insists on having gears. I’m trying to design a custom dropout in CAD but am unclear about how to position the DR relative to the axle. Shimano/SRAM seem to have no documentation in this regard.
Due to the lack of info I decided to get a “claw” type DR (Shimano tourney) so that at least one point is fixed in space (axle mount). However there is still the question of the angle of the mount and how its rotated with respect to the bike. Is there some way I can find out the location and distancing of this hole from the axle center so I can machine/laser cut my dropouts precisely?
This is the DR: https://www.modernbike.com/s?search=363265
Thank you!
