Reynolds, Torch & File, and a new supplier in Portland

Hey all -

Just a note to let everyone know that, as of today (11/18), I’m taking over the Reynolds distribution account for North America from Andy Newlands at Torch & File.

After a mere few decades of selling Reynolds tubing from his shop here in Portland, Andy has decided to retire! Andy is a stalwart of the framebuilding community–especially in Portland–and I’m excited about continuing his legacy here in town.

You’ll notice the T&F website now shows no Reynolds inventory on-hand. That’s because we packed up several hundred tubes and a few hundred pounds of braze-ons today, and moved them over to their new home.

The new supply company is:

Firsthand Framebuilding
Portland, Oregon

The new webstore will be live on Monday, 12/2. Apologies for the downtime–lots to sort through! In the meantime, if you’d like to place an order, email me directly and I’ll get you taken care of. We’ve got decent stock of the popular tubes on-hand, and a couple of big ‘ole shipments inbound to fill in where we’re lacking.

(FYI, this is part of a bigger, broader project I’m undertaking here in Portland. I’ll make an announcement about that, when the time comes.)

Thanks all. Looking forward to bringing Reynolds forward for a new generation of builders.

-Chris

PS. Andy will continue to run Torch & File, selling off his remaining stock of Silva tools and a few other things. Get that stuff while you can!

Thanks! Part of a long-term project here in town, but I’m excited about working with a company with such a unique and interesting history.
