Seatmast Topper Spec & Discussion

have anyone done a straight seatmast topper using carbon tube and using similar clamping mechanism like the darimo etc. for normal road bike use, i would think that will be the easiest build. drilling some holes n then putting a carbon clamp to secure it? just getting the connecting rod/ clamp rail might be a little hard?

the road bike I built has an integrated seat post. I only have a couple mm of adjustability by changing the semi-circular rest for a shorter or higher one.

But the same concept would work as a topper with a normal seat clamp as you propose.

Does anyone try/have a references for a seat topper with quill wedges/similar system like this? looks more cleaner I guess but any pro’s/cons compare with external clamping one? especially at strength and emchanism wise?

One cons is I think is need to make alternative for di2 battery holder

functionally, I see this as the same as the referenced rob English @englishcycles thomson “stub” above.

vie copied that design twice myself and it works completely fine :trade_mark: .

its a bit of a faff to live with, but so is having a seat mast bike, so it feels par for the course, and daaaamn it looks good.
