SYNTACE X12 Dropouts

Hi everyone
Only recently I managed to pay attention to SYNTACE X12 dropouts (image for reference only…) with their concentric and eccentric nuts. Are these dropouts still used extensively? Or they got to be niche solutions?

Thanks.

Paragon Machine Works launches Syntace X12 thru-axle dropouts for custom framebuilders

If the eccentric insert and the benefit or fixing the wheel alignment is what you’re looking for, then the PMW Sram hooded offers the same feature with the most widely spread hanger standard. The Syantace dropouts are still very nice, though.

Everything in this forum is ‘niche’ if we’re being honest, but I use these dropouts often.
Functionally and visually they are my favorite for mountain bikes. There were plenty of bikes with PMW Syntace dropouts at the Made 2024 show, but UDH is probably more common now.

Thanks. Didn’t noticed that PMW UDH had eccentric solution but I don’t really like UDH for steel bikes… but will order a set to analyse…

@PSantana Not sure what is a niche demographics but we still sell this style of dropout almost daily. OK, maybe every other day. I think we sell over 500 pairs a year. That’s a very large “niche”!

Hi @Coco_PMW Great to know. Thanks. 500 sets a year is really a large niche    but my comment was to understand if it is still used by the industry or mainly by framebuilders. Although we are not a small group, most of the builders (at least in EU) are hobbyists or making less than 10 frames a year which I don’t really classify as a solid bike business…
