From an engineering standpoint, cantilever forks put a lot of stress at the crown. A truss fork distributes that stress better. This is my first go. I built the upper mount into the stem to avoid having to make the steerer tube removable.
Not finished yet though. I wanted to do a fit check and go around the block before adding all the braze ons. I’m debating one more brace at the bottom to reinforce the disc brake.
Initial reaction is that it’s stiff and bends less than a regular steel fork under braking.
