Vapour Phantom carbon beam/aero frame

Thanks! There is no big secret on the finish - 0.1mm layer lines on the print, sanded (although PLA is quite annoying to sand, even a little bit helps) and then the final piece is wet sanded, which is much easier to do. The main advantage with printed molds is quick iteration/single-use pieces, aluminum and carbon molds can be re-used many times with great quality in contrast.
On this frame the molded pieces have a 45degree tapered shoulder between the outer surface and the one going inside the tube, which you can see being filled with black epoxy on the final frame. I did not wanted to have harsh 90degree bends in the composite.
The dropouts are indeed forged, not very light - but quick and easy to do!

If this is released I’m definitely interested (for myself and on behalf of my day job).
Do you have a mailing list, or do I just have to keep up to daye via IG and here?

I’m most active on instagram, there is a mailing list on my website but everyone there is expecting bicycle news rather than tools. I will post somewhere here when the time comes perhaps, I saw there is a thread about tools

Soooo cool bike and love to see the steps. Your machines are cool as well!

I want to get some carbon dust under my nails as well. I just picked up a load of supplies from a friend and I plan to make a copy of the gen 1 Specialized Romin saddle

Awesome! Carbon saddle going to be a really nice project:)

This is super cool. I’d love to know more. Unfortunately I’m not on instagram so I was able to see a filament winding video but not much more. Please keep us updated here!
