Help! I’m trying to fit a Shimano BR6100 (post Mount) caliper to a cheap 20” Bucklos suspension fork for an electric tandem bike I am creating. Can anyone tell by looking at the fork’s brake mount what adapter I need to use a 203mm disc rotor? I cannot find any info about this fork and I’m lost when it comes to all the different disc brake mounts.
I forgot to mention, I bought a front 160 to 203 post mount adapter but it doesn’t fit because of an attach point (no idea what it’s for) built into the fork. It looks like it might fit with the 160 to 203 adapter I have if I cut off the attach point but I thought that I would ask first.
I’m taking a wild guess, but that nub seems like a fender mount or some other mounting point that the fork maker crammed in there. Just looked the fork up, and it’s listed as a folding bike fork, so a fender makes sense. The fork must have been made for 160 post mount without any thought of a larger rotor. To my eye, the adapter you have looks like it’s going to fit if you cut the nub off.
You are correct, I cut the nub off and the 203mm post mount adapter and caliper sits perfectly on the rotor. I suspect this fork was never designed to have 203 mm rotor installed. I don’t plan on using this fork long term so I’m not too worried about it folding up with a 203mm rotor.
Thanks for the help!!
Fernando
