Where does a DIY'r source a 1" Threaded Steer Tube for a BMX Cruiser - Klunker

Hey everyone,

I’m deep into a DIY klunker build based on a classic BMX cruiser frame, and I’m hitting a snag with the fork setup. Does anyone know a reliable source for a 1" threaded steer tube (standard BMX spec, around 1" OD with 24TPI threading)? I’m aiming for that retro vibe, so chrome or black finish would be ideal, and length-wise something in the 200-250mm range to fit a 26" wheel setup.

I’ve checked the usual suspects like Amazon and eBay, but most listings are for unthreaded or integrated headsets. Any go-to shops, fabricators, or online BMX parts specialists (US-based preferred for shipping) that stock these?

Appreciate any leads—let’s keep the klunker spirit alive!

Cheers,

Framebuilder Supply and Firsthand and Metal Guru have threaded 1” steer tubes available

Not clear to me if you are looking for the Steerer Tube, or a complete fork. Appears to me that you are looking for a fork, but asking for the wrong item.

Steer Tunbe only, thanks for your feedback.

these are the options from Metal Guru

i think the confusion comes from looking for a particular finish (black or chrome) and mentioning you want something to fit a 26" wheel setup when neither of those things are relevant as you can use whatever steer tube for whatever fork you wanna build and they don’t come pre-finished since you’ll be welding/brazing on them
