Why can't I post a new topic to General?

I just joined the forum, I wanted to put up a post about framebuilding in Europe. When I went to post it to the General forum I wasn’t able to post a new topic. It looks like I can post everywhere else though. Is this intentional? If so, what should I do if I have a post that I think belongs in General?

Sorry about that! The forum software has a trust-level system in place to fight against spam and bots. You needed to reply to a few topics and read a certain amount before you can create a new thread.

I bumped up your trust level, you should be good to go.
