The world Bicycle Forum for 2025 will be held in Montréal, Québec from October 17-20. This will include a show floor where framebuilders, community groups and related businesses will be invited to present. You can follow the programming as it is being released here:
Attendance to the event is free/pay what you can.
And I am hosting a brazing demonstration at my shop On October 19th from 4-6pm. It will be a casual format with lots of room for questions and interactions, a shop tour, and maybe a few warm-up beers before the real WBF after party which will be held at a different venue across the street.
Jacques- Hello, Is there a building community in Montreal? Can’t make it this year (will be in Niles, MI the week before) but hope there’s s second annual event… Andy.
There is a very large and exciting community of builders in Montreal right now, the most we’ve ever seen. More than twenty active builders. Every once in a while I’ll organize a framebuilders get-together although the pandemic kinda messed this up. I also do an evening 5 à 7 (best translated as either “open house” or “cocktail”) on the second-last day of the framebuilding classes that I teach and lots of fellow builders show up for that. The next frame class open house will be November 13th at 5pm at my shop.
Jacques- Thanks for the story. Sounds like a neat community. When I lived in Chicago in 1985 the few builders all hated each other:)
I’ll try to not loose your contact and get back sometime in the future. Andy
