Nice. SPOKEN!? If so I’ll see you there.
I hope so. So broke at the moment.
Yeah that move south can’t have been cheap! Hopefully it lines up for ya. Otherwise I’ll come visit over summer.
Mostly lack of drafting work and zero orders so no cash flow through the business. Just the brutal reality of being a niche within a niche product wise. Propping up a business with a job that is short on hours isn’t conducive to moving forward. Not a woe is me. Just how it is and I have to find ways to hang around and be here for if and when it all picks up.
Is that for a steering damper?
Yes, the Pademelon. They normally use a collar for the anchor bolt. Jeremiah Boobar, who owns the company, approached me to see if I wanted to put the new version with an integrated anchor mount on for the upcoming show. He caught me just in time as I was dropping it all at the powder coaters the next day.
Would you mind sharing your process/materials for decals? There are so many options for vinyl etc it would be great to skip the experimenting part and start with something that’s being used successfully. Thanks! And that’s a great looking frame!
Sure, at the moment I’m just using the Cricut machine with vinyl from the local office supplies store. I possibly have access to a commercial cutting machine but need to suss that one out. Nothing special about what I do with it. I’d love it to be all masked and no decals but it’s complicated with powder coating so I’ll just use decals for now
Thanks, I wasn’t sure if there was a special low profile vinyl or if people are putting a clear coat over or anything like that.
I am looking into an ultra thin vinyl and doing a clear coat. This is only the second powder coat frame I’ve done so still looking at level of finish
I can’t speak to the vinyl decals, but I have seen clear paint over powder-coat that was indistinguishable from an automotive quality paint job.
Good to hear. I’ve read mixed comments so far. I’m sure like every finish prep is key.
Now that’s a red. Great build as always
Looking forward to seeing the final build at SPOKEN!
See you there!
What color is this? I sent a frame to the painter last week for a very similar color and I’m wondering if it’s the same powder from prismatic
