.....Devlin Cycles

Had to redo the head tube on the DH frame. I was rushing and running out of silver and sick with a virus and just shouldn’t have even started doing it. 2 hours work to correct it and it’s actually a better head tube as well. Thicker and a touch longer. Still cups to braze in yet.

And the swing arm. Gas release holes and silver feed holes to fill flush still.

Beautiful work. I especially like that 3D-printed tripod thing. First time I’ve seen 3D printing used to enhance the looks. I’m sure there’s a good engineering reason for it too, but it looks sick.

I use it for both structural and architectural reasons. I just can’t get the same aesthetic out of normal tubes and plate and it also allows me to put the material where I need it with varying wall thicknesses and big radius fillets. Internal stiffeners and gusseting as well. It also saves me a ton of work at the bench. I am struggling with my hands so the days of endless filing and sanding are done for me. I am also converting over to TIG for all the mtb and since it looks like no one wants my road/gravel bikes then silver brazing a road frame probably won’t happen again.

This is so sick!

Haha. Just holding back full reveal till Friday when the Spoken show opens.

This one is mine. There is already a couple things I need/want to tweak from an architecture point of view. A bit more clearance for the cables and look at running them outside the seat tube. The other is I designed it for a 36 chainring and with the 34 on it the chain runs really close to the chainstay. It may or may not be a problem but so far it seems to be good. I may run teh chainstay a little lower 10-15mm but will test it first.

I have only ridden it up a steep road, pedals well, and then down teh final jump line here in Maydena which i only did teh first jump as it was super wet and I was in street clothes no helmet etc.

I did jump off teh 2 foot high wall out teh front and it felt good. I ahve a 500lb spring in there which is way too heavy for me so felt firm but still good.

I’ll get my suspension tuner to do the fork and shock at sime point very soon.

Frame will be Aus$7900 with a DHX2 and powder coat. I already have around 5-6 people wanting to buy one which is freaking amazing but they all understand I need to test this one first. It’s pretty cool to see teh stoke for this one. Very satisfying after the grinding out my stuff for the last 12 years.
