Hello,

i have got another question, what material would you recommend if a want to make a sleeve that fits on the end of the seat tube?

Because I have two seat tubes which are not buttet on the end I thought I could make a sleeve which fits on the end weld it together.

So I could use this two tubes, could I use normal 1.0254(ST37) or should it be 25cromo4?

Hi ! Is anybody using aluminium seatpost sleeves with success ?
Pro’s / con’s ?
I like W01 and AW top tubes shape from columbus but I don’t like to fill the ear’s when matched to 29,8 seat tube.
With a shim I could use larger diameter seat tube then there would be no gap or tinier gap between the sides of the top tube and the seat tube.

I’ve used removable alumnium seatpost shims (to go from 31.6 to 30.9) and they’re fine. They just makes installing the seatpost a touch more finicky.

Starling in the UK bonds a permanent aluminium seat tube sleeve into their frames. They say it’s to prevent galvanic bonding but I’m assuming there are some fabrication benefits to it as well. You should be fine with that option too!
